indigo for new wave@models.com

2010 February 5

new story brought out this week called indigo, photographed by mr. dimitris theocharis. the project team included the sexy and beautiful woman, norah nona and sexy and beautiful man, charles adesanya with the assistant of another friend and photographer, sohrab vahdat and jade fung.

this was actually my last project that i helped out on before my move back to canada and when it was released i was moved to see that there was a small dedication to me, acknowledging my work and assistants on previous projects. so a big heart felt kiss to all my friends in london that made what i thought were unimaginable dreams, imaginable. below the photos are links to new wave, as well, links to norah’s and charles’ websites. i strongly suggest you take a look at what these super talented, super-genius’ do.

so i’ve been trying to experiment with a lighting system that gives me the portability and style that i am happy with. also the importance of having my subjects lit properly with even lighting all round was key. more importantly i wanted the kit to be super portable and low cost. so while playing around with the equipment i have, i believe ive came up with a solution that i am very happy with and would like to experiment with further.

g20 summit in london

2010 January 25

so i attended the g20 last year and haven’t really shared some images i took of it. going through my hard drive i came across them and found myself really enjoying them. it’s not filled with visual gore or anger, when i was there the atmosphere was very peaceful, of harmony and love, with the conglomeration of people standing up for what they believed in.

jamie gabrielle van iersel

2010 January 24

jamie was a flatmate of mine in london, she’s also a personal trainer working at one of the virgin active’s. when we moved in together she wanted some photos done so between two nights we played with some portraits and some fitness shots as well. its odd but a few weeks afterward the shoot i was googling some images and came across an old photo of cindy crawford that made me think of jamies portrait a little bit. anyways, have a look at this pretty girl, good luck back in auz!

personally i think the video is amazing but thats because i’ve become such a GAGA fan nowadays. her over the top stage presentation and fashion attitude is something influential to some of the now boring and “oh so serious” attitudes of some other pop stars. im sorry britney, but 3 is just not competing with this, was it ever?? well with the team of names just behind this video its hard not to, with the jackson thriller dance and early 90’s sound its hard not to get hypnotized into GAGAism. if not the clothes that pulled me in, it was surprisingly her eyes that got me as well, seeing how this was the first time i truly saw her bare without any strong makeup or sunglasses to cover them. im truly looking forward to GAGA’s next video although, hearing her newest single Alejandro, i dont think it will be such eyecandy, good song still but hmm…. ill have to wait and see, that is if there will be a video coming out for it. oh lady GAGA, so good! and to add to this new love i just found out that she was born just a day before me… minus 2 years. could it be destiny? lol.

lyx sends love to this amazing project. well done!
