g20 summit in london
25/01/2010
so i attended the g20 last year and haven’t really shared some images i took of it. going through my hard drive i came across them and found myself really enjoying them. it’s not filled with visual gore or anger, when i was there the atmosphere was very peaceful, of harmony and love, with the conglomeration of people standing up for what they believed in.

These are amazing. They seem to capture the tension of politics and also the grassroots-esque environment that is so often a part of them. Thanks for sharing your point of view.

great photos. i must say that these pics truly reflect the activities of that moment.
thanks for sharing such photos. and yes… B&W pics always stand for the truth.
I just saw your site on the wordpress home page. Thank you for sharing these pictures.
By coincidence the topic of the state of our world was definitely on all my family’s mind today as we just watched again the movie ‘The Day After Tomorrow.’
Personally to help move people away from using plastic water bottles I just wrote a review on stainless steel water bottle choices and posted it on my site here http://thewondertechnique.com/stainless-steel-water-bottles-review/. Just one way I hope to help out.
Thanks again for sharing.

P.S. the choice of black and white is excellent for impact

Awesome images. There’s one there with a whole load of my friends in! I remember being there (trapped until midnight!) and your photos have really captured a lot of the feeling. Excellent work.
amazing. thanks for the comment. if your friends would like i could make a print for them and send it to them. let me know.
good public information, thanks
how amazing are these photos!!! wow
thanks
Nice work – really takes you into the thick of the day.
Thanks for sharing. It looks like the police presence there was not aggressive in stance. How did you percieve their attitude about having their picture taken?

the police seemed supportive at the time when i was there, making sure things were safe and such. it didnt seem as though they minded photographers being there at all. i do enjoy the one image i took of the female officer that looked directly at me.
nice documentary photography
Hey,
I’m starting a new Libertarian Socialist blog called Rosa’s Ghost. I
was hoping you might add it to your links page. It would be a great
help. Thanks in advance.

Good pics and good information. Thanx
Amazing photos – this is how I remember it, to begin with anyway. My photos start like this too, with a peaceful, interesting protest. But the rest of my memories (and my photos) are a bit more brutal and violent. It’s a shame that the media only focused on the violence and not the peaceful protest.
Thanks for posting these images!
yeah i think i captured the community atmosphere of the protest. what ppl stand for, their commitment to their beliefs and the sharing of a uniformed awareness.
Very good photos. You were at the Green camp, huh? I would have liked to have seen it, but I was outside the Bank most of the day. It was a good atmosphere there too, except on the fringes (i.e. where the thugs were – i.e. the police). During the middle of it me and my friend lay down for a spot of lunch and a bit of a sunbathe. Ambivalent event though: one so layered with significance that you seem to spend days afterward dissecting it and reconstructing it in your mind. Your photos seem to capture that, or to provoke it again in me.
All best,
Wit
yeah my friend was at bank that day, he was quite close to the front and captured some amazing footage and images too. thanks for the comment.
wow I’m impressed. like Mother Theresa said: I will not join an anti-war movement. if you have a peace movement, invite me!
Love your photos!
